AMATEUR RADIO at the WORLD SCOUT JAMBOREE!

We like to bill JOTA and JOTI as a travel-free Jamboree but there are some people who like to travel to Jamborees (about 46,000 of them), and amateur radio is a great way to talk to them.

The 24th World Scout Jamboree is taking place later this month, from July 22nd to August 2nd at the Bechtel Summit Scout Reserve in West Virginia, and we will be on the air, along with nearly 800 Canadian Scouts and Scouters and 46,000 more from around the world!

If you can’t travel to the Jamboree, why not plan to get together with a radio transceiver or two and try to contact us.  See the frequencies below.

Radio station NA1WJ (standing for North America’s 1st World Jamboree) will be operating 24 hours a day from the 24th World Scout Jamboree. Thousands of youth and adult volunteers from all around the world are expected to drop by and discover the magic of amateur radio… and it’s more fun if they have somebody to talk to!

Frequencies in use are the usual World Scout radio frequencies:
